MONKEY BOTTOM HISTORY

30 years ago, 1981, Don McGigney had an idea. He got together with Ray Mudryck from the VFW and Mike Dudek from the KOC and talked about having a softball game. The game was at the ball field behind Ocean View Elementary School. That area was known as Monkey Bottom, word has it there were real monkeys in cages in that area but I never saw any.

The winning organization kept a monkey, donated by Woody Holmes from his daughters crib. This started the tradition we the Monkey Bottom Classic, an annual event. The intent was to play some softball, eat some food, have party, and plain have fun. This year marks the 30th year of this tradition. The game will be on Saturday, 24 Sep 10:00am at the Monkey Bottom field behind the Ocean View Elementary School. Come join in the fun. The after game party will be at the VFW, come down for the V for food and entertainment. Hope to see you all at the game and party, see some old friends and meet some new.
